Hear From Our Travelers

Slide 1 of 2
- Artimus Quick (a college student at the time of his journey to Ghana)

There has only been a few moments in life where I have felt deeply connected to a place that I had never been. Not only were we called to do service by using resources local to Ghana and giving the local women of Atabazi village a shot at ownership, but we were embedded with the wonderful Couple Christopher and Deborah. Their love, passion. knowledge and most importantly their work helped facilitate a life lesson and truth I still carry with me 20 years later. Go to Ghana, build, establish relationships and enjoy the culture, you will be forever positively changed.

- Artimus Quick (a college student at the time of his journey to Ghana)

It is an understatement to say Motherland International changed my life. At age 12, I had the honor of traveling to Ghana. The support and facilitation of Motherland International allowed me to completely transform my understanding of place, identity, and liberation at such a young age. It completely transformed my path by introducing me to Pan-Africanism, authentic global citizenship, and global solidarity at such a young age. It is my experience with Motherland that led me to seek out opportunities for the rest of my life to live abroad and be in deep meaningful community with those from all corners of the earth. I can guarantee there is an expansion of self that occurs with Motherland International. I am who I am because of this experience.
